First, the baby formula, then off to college with a $10k scholarship!

If you are a new mother, or have a baby that drinks formula, you understand how important it is to pick the right formula for your baby to digest.  A mother needs to find a formula that will provide iron, vitamins, and minerals during the baby’s first year of development, as well as the nutrients that are normally found in breast milk.  Unfortunately, not all babies can get breast milk.

My children were two babies that would not take to my breast milk.  For one, I was under heavy medication from having a c-section with both of them.  By the time I tried again, they only wanted the bottle.  Even then, I did not feel comfortable being a big-busted woman attempting to pump breast milk every so often.  So, choosing the best infant formula was something I took as serious business.

Conforts for Baby is a great brand to choose when it comes to picking formula for your baby!  It contains DHA and ARA lipids, which are vital for the development of the baby’s brain and eyes.  It is also fortified with choline, a nutrient found in mother’s breast milk, and lactose, a carbohydrate that is also found in mother’s breast milk.  Comforts is also manufactured by FDA standards.

Right now, Comforts is holding a special contest on naming their new little Firefly mascot.  If your entry is chosen, you could win a $10,000 scholarship for your child to use when they attend college!  My own personal entry is “Flicker.”  This scholarship contest is being sponsored by Kroger-owned food stores and any parent across America can name the Firefly!  Please make sure that you give them all the requested information!  You have 25 characters or less to name the cute little Firefly!  The winning entry will be announced online after September 21, 2009.
