At times, he infuriates me!

You know how you love that man you marry, yet there are times where you just totally wonder what the heck were you thinking? You know what I mean! Those faults you tend to overlook, but when the wrong moment comes along, those faults tend to grate you far worse than usual?
That is today for me.
I love Scott, don’t get me wrong. We all have our faults, so I am not so innocent. However, this particular scenario takes the cake at the moment!
We tend to keep soda in the house. When we visit Minnesota every summer, Scott stock piles Pibb Extra and Mello Yellow. I could careless for those two brands, so there is always more for him. We are also avid Pepsi drinkers, which we tend to keep in the house year around.
So, here is where that fault line appeared today and I blew up about it.
Here I am, sitting on a very strict budget since I didn’t sign a teaching contract yet. Priorities come and go, and we had to send Scott back to Minnesota earlier this month to go to his grandmother’s funeral. Needless to day, there isn’t much money leftover for the small indulgences in life I have like chocolate and Pepsi. I am trying to ration out the Pepsi, thinking that it will last because Scott still has one 12-pack of Pibb Extra and Mello Yello.
Wait for it….
My loving husband decides to drink my last cold Pepsi in the fridge! I still have one 12-pack left, but he has two of his own!
Yes, I know, this is pretty lame. But I have one pack of Pepsi left while he is sitting on two packs of soda no one else will even go near in the house. It is just pretty damn selfish, if you ask me.
So, yes … I blew up at my husband. What infuriates me the most is that he doesn’t see this as something he did wrong. I pointed out he has two other packs here, and he went and drinks the one thing I will drink versus the other crap he has to have every year because they do not sell them in 12-packs here in Las Vegas.
Even as I write this, it does seem petty, but it is the principle of the matter. You just don’t do that. I even pointed out that when I was working full-time and going to school full-time, I’d buy mint chocolate chip ice cream for myself. He’d always get on me that no one else eats it, so why buy it. So not true, Michael will eat it, but if you flip the ice cream for the soda, it is the same thing.
He doesn’t seem to think so.
Please tell me that I am not the only wife that goes through this with their husband every once in awhile?
