What is the deal with shoes?

http://www.cmhager.com/images/sketches/RunningShoes.jpgThis is a question many men ask women, right?  It goes along the same line with the other copious amounts of accessories us women tend to horde and collect.  However, my outtake on shoes are a little different than most women.

I tend to go for the more athletic, running shoes.  While many women tend to have the different hundreds of pairs of high heels and pumps, I’d prefer the collection to be of different athletic shoes.  I don’t dress up much, and being an active mother of two even more active children, I need comfortable shoes to keep up.

I also do take leisure walks through our community, or trails up at Mount Charleston.  The one place I do love shopping for my shoes is Foot Locker.  They have an impressive running shoes collection!  I love shopping at Foot Locker mainly because of the selection.  I can never get bored walking into that store, looking at shoes.

They have practically every known brand of athletic shoes possible, from Adidas to Brooks, Jordans to Sports Street, and even Puma and Reebok.  Practically every color imaginable, too.  They also offer sizes for men, women, and children.  It makes it pretty easy to shop there for this mom.

I am a pretty picky shopper when it comes to shoes, and I suppose it has carried over to my children.  Michael already has a certain style her prefers, the more skater but durable look.  Leilani likes the athletic shoes, but tends to shy away from the cross runners and anything pink.  For me, I tend to lean towards black, navy blue, and white myself.  I suppose this is because I mostly wear blue and black with my jeans or shorts.  When I am not wearing blue or black, the white shoes fill in with the other colors.

I tend to think this is one connection I have always had with my boyfriends growing up.  I could easily shop in an athletic shoe store with no problems, and come out with a pair for myself.  This always seemed to impress them, probably because I wasn’t so bored, or attempting to pull them to the nearest girlie shoe boutique.

Nah, give me a pair of running shoes any day and I am happy!
