Random Word Bank Wednesday #1

I stumbled upon this blog called Write Anyway the other day as I was searching through MyBlogLog. This blog’s author writes something unique each and every day. I thought I’d take a stab at some of the daily memes they share!
This week’s entry for Random Word Bank Wednesday can be found by clicking here. This week’s theme is writing.
For the first word bank, I don’t want you to write a short story or anything actually. What I want you to do is word association. For every word there, I want you to write the word and then write the first word that comes to your mind after.
Word Bank One
wind – breeze
fall – accident
everyone – audience
writing – voice
temple - prayer
third – 3
welcome – accepted
prince – pauper
week – end
random – scattered
For the second word bank, I do want you to write a short story (or something longer if you like) that incorporates this week’s theme. This round goes as usual; just include all of the words in the bank.
Word Bank Two
night
moon
red
word
lady
include
magic
bank
good
rather
Working at night as a writer is not the best of setting to utilize. The moon and the path that is lit is the only guide you have outside the door. I have gotten word that a new neighbor has moved in at the two-story red brick house down the lane. A lady who is of odd ends and sorts, I have been told. In with this description would include the fact that she lives alone, there is now some weird odor rising from the plot of land the house sits upon, and that she acts very peculiar. The children have resorted to saying she is a witch, in which with all the political correctness in today’s society, their parents have reminded them it is called “magic.” You can bank on this: It is more than magic, from what I have been told.
The only question that lies before me as I attempt to make a close journey to witness any oddities tonight: Is this lady one to do the work of the good, or rather upon poor souls to wretch evil amuck?
For the third word bank, it is something different yet again. I would like you to try your hand at writing a poem incorporating the words provided. I don’t think I have asked you to write poetry before, so it should be something new and fun for you.
Word Bank Three
rain
like
challenge
girl
them
big
only
mind
sun
work
The dark clouds loom as the rain begins to fall.
Like the thick gray clouds,
my heart dares me to challenge what emotions creep inside.
I was the girl, your girl.
You allowed foul words spoken by them to sway you otherwise.
I became the bigger person and walked away,
only to carry with me the baggage of issues nowhere being closed.
I do mind that things have been led this way,
the sun does not get granted permission to dry up the wet promises.
Off to work I go, leaving life behind.

Excellent responses! I’m quite impressed.
I like starting off with the word association because I think it’s a fun warm-up to the other exercises.
I hope you enjoyed it!
I’ll be adding this site to my blogroll…
