Where did my Saturday go?

I have to tell you, I am pretty bummed that I didn’t have a very productive Saturday!  Okay, “bummed” is not the word, more like disappointed.  Yeah, that is a better word to describe it.

So, where did my Saturday go?  Well, most of it at the beauty shop for Leilani’s hair.  I was actually quite upset this morning, but these types of beauty shops are not the kind where you want to tick people off.

Apparently, Leilani’s stylist didn’t write her in her book, and booked it off to Palm Springs CA!  We had been sitting there for a half an hour before I finally asked if she was running late.  So, the girl who I usually chat with while Leilani gets her hair done calls the lady.  Although I was upset, I was at a loss of what to do since I do not have any good products to fix Leilani’s hair and I didn’t feel comfortable asking and not getting actual services from the shop.

So, the lady who did Leilani’s hair today was nice enough to squeeze Leilani in and get her hair done.  She did a really nice job, but Leilani didn’t want her picture taken today.  She is still apprehensive about her hair being short.  She tried to wave away a tip, but I told her to take it for fitting Leilani into her schedule today.  We were there … wait for it … four and a half hours!

Scott went through is observation shift today with Applebee’s.  I am so proud of him!  He has really been looking forward to getting back into a restaurant setting and putting his ideas and degree into good use.  We should find out within the next week if he will be part of the Applebee’s family!  Keep good vibes and thoughts on this as it would tremendously help us into the right direction we want to work towards.

And what direct is that, you ask?  Well, we want to be able to get jobs in career fields and companies that are transferable when we are ready to move out of state.  For me, my teaching degree is good anywhere.  But let’s face it, we know teachers do not make a whole lot.  So, Scott is up to be the bread winner of the family until I can work my way up to my PhD degree.  Since Scott’s degree is in food and beverage management and wants to work in the restaurant industry, we felt it was time to move onto a company where he can build and then be able to transfer when the time is right.

It does make sense, right?

So, this stack of books with a laptop sitting on top of it truly represents what the pile of textbooks and my own personal laptop looked like when I came home.  Have I tackled it?  Um no.  Well, only to remove the laptop OFF the time to BLOG.  At least I accomplished in getting blog posts up today.  I still have a couple of more to do, but hey – it is something!

As for my homework, I will just have to cram it in tomorrow and Monday.  I haven’t even gotten halfway through Mrs. Dalloway.  I have Spanish work due Tuesday night, along with a test.  I have to work on my lesson plan revisions for my presentation in a couple of weeks.  Oh, and math – that stinking math!  At least I am getting the stuff we are moving onto now!  Perhaps I can pull off a C in that class after all!

Alright, enough ranting and rambling.  I am off to post something worthwhile up on here.  TTYL, peas out!  Peace Sign
